While Emerald Bridal offers exclusive and intricate ready-to-wear bridal designs, the company isn’t afraid to think outside the box. Based in Ryde, the designers encourage brides to add their own characteristic style to their dresses. This flexibility comes from owner, Sandra Lin’s, personal experience, who was inspired after witnessing the work that went into creating her own wedding dress back in 2014.
“I grew up around a family-owned wedding gown manufacturing factory,” Sandra says. “For me, making a beautiful bridal gown is like artwork. When I saw the creative director create my bridal gown, I realised this is what we need to do. We should create a line of gowns that are exceptionally designed and high quality, made to flatter brides who haven’t found their perfect dress.”
Debuting a sleek and modern collection, Emerald Bridal is taking its designs to a whole new level. The company sources its finest lace and fabrics from Japan, Taiwan and China. “We are a team of two experienced dressmakers,” Sandra says. “There’s one ambitious creative director and one motivated store owner. Our goal is to make sure we see the smiles on our brides. We create dresses that say everything about the bride.”
The bridal atelier has enough styles to complement different body shapes, with the duo having spent the first 18 months of business redesigning and adjusting sample dresses to perfection. “We try to get to know the couple on the first appointment,” Sandra says. “We are open to brides who have a particular style in mind. Any questions or concerns are helpful in the process. At the end of the day, it’s about finding the dress that you are comfortable in. Be yourself and don’t let the world tell you what to wear.”
