Lauren and Aaron: Country Chic
When Aaron surprised Lauren with a trip to Melbourne for their five-year anniversary, she wasn’t expecting anything else. The pair spent three wonderful days exploring Melbourne and relaxing in their hotel spa.
One afternoon, Lauren took a shower and as she got out, she was greeted by Aaron, kneeling down and with a message on the bathroom mirror. “The message read, ‘I love you, will you marry me?’ It was followed by two boxes, ‘yes’ and ‘yes’,” Lauren says.
The couple met at a local hotel, where they both worked part-time after returning to their hometown from university. “We instantly became friends,” Lauren says. “Since then, we have travelled to numerous countries and bought our first home together.”
Plans for the big day soon took shape once Lauren and Aaron chose St Aubyn’s in Bathurst as their ceremony and reception spot. Rather than following a theme, the couple enhanced the rustic accents of the venue. “We fell in love with it,” Lauren says. “It has beautifully manicured gardens, with white materials hung from the roof and polished concrete floors. We really didn’t need to add much.”
It took 14 months to plan their wedding, and searching for the perfect wedding dress was as easy as finding the venue. “I first met Katherine from InStyle Bridal at the Bathurst Bridal Expo,” Lauren says. While she made appointments with two other dress shops, once Lauren visited InStyle Bridal in Sydney, the decision was made. “Katherine was extremely helpful and made the process so enjoyable that I purchased dresses for my bridesmaids from there as well,” Lauren says.
The bride walked down the aisle in a stunning Pronovias Maricel gown. A fitted mermaid design, it is covered in lace and features a plunging V-neck back. “There is no better feeling than when you are waiting to see your bride,” Aaron says. “We had the most amazing day.”
