Atelier Versace Fall ’17 Collection
By Jessica Ienco
From delicate, flowing fabrics, to dark and rigid designs, who would have thought that Ms Donatella Versace could surprise us yet again? Well, the truth is that she has. The Atelier Versace Haute Couture Collection of Autumn 2017 is a highly sought-after range of garments that can only be purchased directly through the House of Versace. Rumour has it, there were even a few designs that haven’t been publicised and are only available to women who deal directly with the Versace tribe.
The collection consists of 19 incredible pieces, all of which capture the true essence of Versace glamour and style. Each garment is, of course, 100% runway worthy, with eye-catching metallic embroidery, handcrafted crystal embellishments and countless other brilliant techniques and applications that make each of these pieces truly one of a kind.
Two standout looks that undoubtedly resemble haute couture bridal gowns are Look 3 and 4. Both designed in an angelic style, the white gown and jumpsuit are amazingly intricate, detailed with a delicate cobweb-like pattern and a skin-bearing sheer underlay. For those brides who are brave enough to wear either of these spectacular designs, this is definitely your opportunity to make the aisle your runway.
Among all of the glamorous floor-length gowns in this collection are five fabulous minis. Reaching only to high-thigh on the legs-for-days-models- of course us more vertically challenged women would see these dresses reach our knees- these beautiful cropped designs are equally elegant. Look 7 even features a bronze snake-inspired jewelled belt that was 3D printed in-house.
An incredibly unique and imaginative evening collection, Donatella describes it as “A fantasy come to life. It is about power and fragility, and the inner strength when the two are combined.” You took the words straight out of my mouth, Ms Versace.
