Zuhair Murad’s Spring ’18 bridal collection
By Jessica Ienco
Famous for his show-stopping, jaw-dropping gowns and J-LO’s go-to red carpet designer, Zuhair Murad has dropped his Spring 2018 Bridal Collection, single-handedly proving that haute couture design isn’t just for the runway.
Murad’s previous annual bridal collections have each been exceptional and glamorous in their own distinctive way but have this year been superseded by his ingenious creation of a bridal jumpsuit. Amazing, right?! The skin-bearing piece, known as the ‘Dona’ jumpsuit, spans from neck to toe in an intricate white lace design with a transparent mesh underlay, a perfect combination of classic and couture. For the more conservative bride, Murad offers a red carpet-worthy detachable tulle overskirt, which also gives brides the opportunity for a glamorous second outfit reveal, for those ladies channelling their inner Kimmy K.
More of Murad’s creations include elaborate figure-hugging designs, like the ‘Daniela’ dress, and lush, flowing princess-style gowns, including the ‘Delilah’ dress, with a consistent focus on delicate, sheer lace fabrics and cinched waists. Effortlessly capturing both haute couture and traditional elegance is the ‘Dory’ dress, a timeless gown featuring a soft tulle skirt and delicate lace that flows off the shoulder and grasps around the wrists in elegant lace cuffs.
From dressing Queen Bey and Jenny From the Block to inventing dreamy bridal gowns, Mr Murad certainly can do it all.
