City chic

Who: Jessica Luketic and Travis Knipe.
When: January 16, 2009.
Where: The ceremony and reception took place at Carousel, Albert Park.
Theme: Shades of green, papaya and white featured throughout the day, with Singapore orchids adding the finishing touch to different elements, from the cake and table designs to hairpieces and corsages.
Gown: Jessica’s Ania G Couture gown was handmade in pure silk, satin and organza, with hand-beaded French Chantilly lace and lots of vintage diamantes. Her bridesmaids wore Pricilla of Boston papaya cotton tricotine knee-length sleeveless dresses with full skirts.
Suit: Travis and his groomsmen wore Peter Jackson tan suits accompanied by white pin-striped Hugo Boss shirts and green mismatched ties.
Rings: Jessica’s engagement ring and wedding band came from Tiffany & Co, as did matching silver rings for the bridesmaids.
Flowers: Wired white Singapore orchids created a posy with individual single wired flowers creating an explosion look. The bridesmaids held bouquets of lime-green Singapore orchids.
Cake: A stack of individual chocolate fudge and white chocolate mud cakes from Cioccolata Bella were decorated with white chocolate shards and a sugared chocolate heart.
Reception: Fabulous food, a huge dance floor, great music and entertainment created the perfect occasion for the couple, who wanted guests in their seats as little as possible.
Decorations: The tables were decorated with floating candles, ferns and moss to make the guests feel like they were on a creek bed in the forest. The idea was to create an atmosphere of the outdoors coming in. Guests described the table arrangement as magical, as if at any second a pixie could jump out.
Entertainment: A DJ, band and selection of performers entertained guests throughout the day. Croatian Folkloric dancers LADO performed traditional wedding songs and dances and taught guests the “kolo”.
Photography: XSiGHT Photography & Video suggested the couple take photos before the ceremony, so guests wouldn’t have to wait around afterwards. Pre-wedding photos took place at Jessica’s parents’ house in Myrniong. She and her bridesmaids walked down the stairs together to greet her parents, Travis and the groomsmen waiting below.
Favourite memories: At around 11pm at the reception, Jessica was astonished to find that at least 90 per cent of their guests were out on the dance floor, including the couple’s grandparents. “It was then that I realised that the vision we had of our wedding actually came true to perfection,” she says.
