Crab Apple Vintage

Located in Newcastle, Crab Apple Vintage provides couples with functional recycled furniture and styling props to create their dream wedding space. Although specialising in vintage and rustic themes with an upcycled twist, the company also delights in providing for unique and interesting themes, such as Mexican fiesta, for couples that want to add a bit of spice to their big day. “While we [mainly] cater for rustic, country and industrial styles of weddings, we also cover a wide range of other styles from bohemian, Mexican or even something as simple as a backyard picnic, so don’t be scared off by the word vintage in our name,” says company founder, Martina Long.
Many of Crab Apple Vintage’s items are pre-loved and pre-used by schools, factories and homes, making for an eclectic mix of pieces readily available to couples. All items are revamped with a fresh lick of paint or spot of polish to restore them to their former glory.
Among the portfolio of items, couples will find everything from benches and chairs to garden accessories, coffee tables and outdoor settings.
In operation for around four years, Crab Apple Vintage started when Martina was planning her own wedding. “We already had a shop where we sold vintage and industrial pieces and made a lot of pieces from recycled timbers but when I went to plan my own wedding, I couldn’t find anything to fit in with the rustic country kind of feel I was after,” she says. “So we decided to create our own business and the second half of Crab Apple Vintage sprang from there. Now we have the shopfront as well as the hire and styling business.”
Additional services are also offered to help with planning your wedding. These include styling tips, event management, as well as set-up and pack-down services, all aimed to help reduce the stress that comes with organising and preparing for your special day.
