Banjo Paterson Cottage Restaurant

Built in the 19th century, Banjo Paterson Cottage Restaurant was once inhabited by its namesake: the influential Australian bush poet, journalist and author Banjo Paterson. Today, the sandstone beauty offers an exquisite food and drink menu, manicured gardens and breathtaking water views.
With its own private jetty, the inner-west Sydney spot offers couples and guests the opportunity to access the five-acre parkland venue by boat. The cottage and restaurant also provides free parking for more than 50 cars as well as disabled access. Whether you are looking for a seated or cocktail-style function, Banjo Paterson caters for both, with capacity for up to 130 guests seated, or 350 guests cocktail.
Functions and events manager, Beverley Hollas-Clayton, explains what sets Banjo Paterson Cottage Restaurant apart from other wedding venues. “We offer a personal service,” Beverley says. “We try to accommodate couples’ individual requirements. Our attention to detail and stunning location set us apart from other venues. We also change our menu twice a year.”
For couples, picking a venue first helps determine all other essentials. The number of guests, food and transport all depend on where the big day is taking place. For this reason, Banjo Paterson offers a number of excellent function rooms to suit all styles of weddings. From small and intimate gatherings to large extravaganzas, the venue’s website features a floor plan of its four function rooms to help couples visualise their wedding and plan for their special day.
